Anna Tarakanova: The Art of Beginning Again

There is a particular kind of courage in beginning again.

It is easy to reinvent yourself when you are young, when the road ahead seems endless and possibilities feel almost limitless. But choosing to step into a new version of yourself after years of building a career, establishing a life, moving across borders and accumulating responsibilities requires something different. It requires the willingness to believe that there is still more ahead.

Anna Tarakanova knows that feeling well.

Her life has unfolded across seemingly different worlds—scientific research, global healthcare, regulatory affairs, corporate leadership, mentorship, coaching, fashion, modeling, women’s advocacy and, most recently, an international pageant stage. Yet beneath these diverse chapters is a common thread: an enduring belief in transformation and an unwillingness to accept that any chapter has to be the final one.

Today, Anna is turning that philosophy into a mission built around three simple words:

It’s Never Too Late.

Not simply to change careers. Not simply to pursue a dream. Not simply to become more confident.

It is never too late to become more fully yourself.

A Foundation in Science

Long before she stepped onto an international stage, Anna’s world was defined by science.

She holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and a Post-Graduate Certificate with Honours in Regulatory Affairs. Her early career as a Research Scientist included contributions to six scientific publications and a patented invention.

Science taught her to ask questions, challenge assumptions and look beyond the obvious answer. Those qualities would later become just as valuable in leadership as they had been in the laboratory.

When Anna relocated to Canada, she entered another kind of experiment: rebuilding a professional identity in a new country.

The transition demanded resilience. Starting again professionally after establishing a career elsewhere can mean learning new systems, rebuilding networks and proving yourself in an unfamiliar environment. For Anna, immigration became less about leaving one identity behind and more about expanding it.

She moved into Regulatory Affairs and Quality, taking on leadership and project management roles within global organizations. Today, she leads a department at Canon Medical, an international medical device company, where her work sits at the intersection of healthcare innovation, quality and patient outcomes.

The trajectory is impressive. But for Anna, professional achievement is only one part of the story.

When Success Becomes a Starting Point

There comes a moment in many women’s lives when the question changes.

It is no longer simply, What can I achieve?

It becomes, What can I contribute?

That distinction has become central to Anna’s work.

She understands how easily women can become defined by the roles they perform—professional, immigrant, leader, caregiver, partner—until the question of who they are beneath those roles becomes surprisingly difficult to answer.

This can be particularly true for immigrant women who have spent years building successful lives in Canada. They may have achieved the career they once dreamed of, yet still sense that something is missing.

Anna sees that moment not as a crisis, but as an invitation to reinvention.

Not a rejection of the past, but a deeper conversation with it.

The experience, skills and resilience accumulated over the years do not disappear. They become the foundation for what comes next.

The Mentor Behind the Message

Mentorship has become one of the most meaningful expressions of Anna’s leadership.

Through WSTEM TO, she has supported women in STEM who are navigating career transitions, rebuilding confidence or exploring new professional possibilities. Being recognized as Best Mentor was meaningful to Anna not simply as an accolade, but as confirmation of something she deeply believes: leadership is not only about achieving results. It is also about helping others recognize their own potential.

Her approach is grounded in a simple idea: sometimes people do not need someone to tell them who to become. They need someone who can help them see who they already are.

Anna is continuing to develop that work through formal coaching training and her pursuit of the ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential in Business Leadership and Personal Coaching.

Her interests span technology, education, healthcare and social impact, but her purpose remains consistent—to help women move from uncertainty toward clarity, and from clarity toward meaningful action.

A Crown, and What It Really Represents

Then came the crown.

In 2026, Anna was crowned Ms. Platinum Universe at TCP Universe pageant in Atlanta, adding another unexpected dimension to a career rooted in science and healthcare. She also received the Costume of the Universe title.

But for Anna, the significance of the experience goes far beyond the pageant itself.

Stepping onto an international stage represented a willingness to be visible—to embrace femininity, challenge expectations and pursue something that might once have seemed outside the boundaries of her professional identity.

The crown became a symbol of possibility.

Anna does not see the title as the destination. She sees it as evidence.

Evidence that reinvention can happen at any stage of life.

Evidence that confidence can be rebuilt.

Evidence that a woman can surprise herself.

And evidence that “Is it too late?” is often the wrong question.

A better question is: “Why not now?”

Fashion as an Art of Transformation

Anna’s fascination with transformation extends naturally into fashion, which she sees as an art form and another language of self-expression.

She has embraced modeling as a new creative chapter and is honored to represent designer Tania Shakhmatova and her KOLO Fashion brand at CMG Paris Fashion Week in October 2026.

Under Tania Shakhmatova’s vision, refined lines and subtle textures shape a distinctly modern expression of femininity. For Anna, representing the brand is more than a modeling opportunity—it is another way of exploring identity, confidence and the art of becoming.

Fashion, like reinvention, does not require erasing the woman you have been. It offers the freedom to reveal another dimension of who you are.

From Visibility to Advocacy

With greater visibility has come greater responsibility.

As a spokeswoman for The Pledge Campaign Foundation, Anna uses her platform to advocate for women across cultures and borders, with a particular focus on domestic violence prevention, supporting survivors and raising awareness through education and community engagement.

For Anna, empowerment cannot exist only as an inspirational concept. It must translate into action.

Her different roles converge here. The scientist brings analytical thinking. The corporate leader brings strategic discipline. The mentor brings empathy. The coach brings a focus on transformation. The model and pageant title bring visibility.

Together, they create something larger than any individual achievement.

“It’s Never Too Late”

That convergence is the foundation of Anna’s “It’s Never Too Late” 30-Day Reinvention Program, created for immigrant women in Canada who have built meaningful careers but are searching for deeper purpose, contribution and meaning.

The program follows four stages: identity, purpose, power and contribution.

It begins with Who am I now? and moves into Why am I here? before asking How do I step up? and ultimately, What difference will I make?

Across 30 days, participants explore their stories, values, strengths, limiting beliefs, purpose, vision, leadership and influence before creating a practical pathway for their next chapter.

The objective is not to manufacture a new woman.

It is to help uncover the woman who may have been waiting beneath years of responsibility, expectations and self-doubt.

The Next Chapter Is the Point

Anna’s larger vision extends beyond a single program.

She is building a philosophy around the idea of Your Next Chapter—a belief that life is not measured by age, but by the courage to continue becoming.

Too often, women place dreams on hold. Careers take precedence. Families need attention. Immigration requires adaptation. Circumstances change. And somewhere along the way, a woman can begin to believe that certain possibilities belong to a younger version of herself.

Anna challenges that assumption.

Her framework is simple:

Believe. Become. Belong.

Believe that you are capable.

Become the woman you have always wanted to be.

Belong to a community that believes in you, too.

It is a philosophy reflected in Anna’s own evolution. She did not abandon one life to create another. She kept adding layers to who she was.

Scientist. Leader. Immigrant. Mentor. Coach. Advocate. Model. Woman. Ms. Platinum Universe.

Each identity became part of the next.

A Life Still in Progress

Perhaps the most compelling thing about Anna Tarakanova’s story is that it does not feel finished.

There is no neat final chapter, no sense that she has arrived at a destination and is simply looking back.

She is still becoming.

And that may be the most important message she offers other women.

Reinvention is not necessarily dramatic. Sometimes it begins quietly—with a question, a desire, a feeling that there must be more. Sometimes it begins after a move across the world. Sometimes after decades of professional success. Sometimes after a woman realizes that the version of herself she has been presenting to the world is no longer the whole story.

Anna’s mission is to make that realization feel less frightening and more liberating.

To remind women that experience is not baggage. Age is not a deadline. A previous chapter is not a limitation.

There is always another page.

And perhaps the most beautiful thing about a next chapter is that you get to write it with everything you have learned from the ones before.

For Anna Tarakanova, the message is clear:

It is never too late to dream again.
Never too late to begin again.
Never too late to become again.

Because sometimes the life you are meant to live does not begin at the beginning.

Sometimes, it begins when you finally decide that your story is not over.
